Nicola Grellier
Nicola Grellier's work can most easily be divided into successive 'eras' as one preoccupation leads on to another although each era is intimately attached to all the others and they cross refer constantly.
Always present are a commitment to drawing, strength of line and an enjoyment of accident whilst the pleasure taken in language, words and coincidence hover behind the images. Nicola's paintings reveal an adoration for oil paint but also great enjoyment when using house paint or collage.
Having studied at Wimbledon and Chelsea Schools of Art from 1984-88, Nicola moved to Gloucestershire continuing to paint and raise three children. She exhibited both locally and nationally and undertakes corporate and private commissions.
Returning to London in 2007, and adding to the family in 2008 Nicola has spent the last 3 years making surprisingly and increasingly more text-obsessive collages.
