| Gesso |
Gesso was traditionally mixed with animal glue, usually rabbit-skin glue, to use as an absorbent primer coat for panel painting with tempera paints. It is a permanent and brilliant white substrate, as long as it is used on wood or masonite. Gesso is the base onto which gold leaf (gilding) is applied. It can be carved and moulded enabling it to be used to make decorative frame mouldings. |

A term used to describe a digital print made on an ultra-high resolution inkjet printer. The name comes from the French word 'gicleur' which is a word that describes an individual who squirts liquid through a nozzle. |
