Restoration
We offer repairs to period frames if the damage is within reason. Common damage tends to be missing moulding in ornate designs or open mitres in the corners. By using a casting technique, we can emulate the moulding and insert a cast impression in the missing areas.
Gilding and colouration are then matched to provide a seemless finish. Open mitres can normally be re-pinned and glued although in serious cases the only option is to break and re-set the frame which has to be assessed before the job is agreed.
